Developed and administered new and existing aviation business throughout the United States and managed the Western Region. Developed 5-year strategic plan that was implemented resulting in cohesion of aviation marketing and operations.
* 1979-1989: Director of Risk Management & Assistant Treasurer,    Northrop Corporation, Los Angeles, California
Directed a worldwide risk management program for this diversified aerospace corporation, with $6 billion sales, managing property, casualty and employee benefits for over 47,000 employees. Insurance budget was in excess of $230 million annually of which 80% was self-insured. Involved in the formation of and was president of a captive insurance company that produced a profit exceeding $3 million. Created master trust in 1980 saving in excess of $10 million annually. Active in loss control; effectively managed claims administration and related negotiations; periodically reviewed insured and self-insured reserves; set up claims reporting manual.

Developed a centralized risk management program for this transportation company, with $1 billion sales, and its diversified subsidiaries, the activities of which included the world's largest all-cargo airline, the leasing of over 50,000 rail cars, ownership of rail car repair facilities, fixed base operations that converted passenger airplanes to executive jets, the leasing of passenger jets, the leasing of computers.
